Frequently asked questions

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team.

Do patients have to pay for KAL-Med services?

KAL-Med is a private facility and all services rendered by us are covered entirely by the patient.

Do you offer ... ?

The full list of our services can be found in the TESTS and PRICE LIST tab.

How to prepare for laboratory tests?

For more information, please contact us by phone or e-mail or see the “how to prepare for basic laboratory tests” tab. Standard blood tests are performed in the morning, fasting, after a good night’s sleep.

How to prepare for a gynaecological examination?

There’s no need for special preparation before the gynaecological exam. Please maintain personal hygiene. The best time to schedule your Pap smear is several days after the last day of your menstruation. Other examinations, such as transvaginal ultrasound and pelvic examination, can be done at any phase of the cycle. It is possible to conduct pelvic examination during your menstrual period, but we do not perform Pap smears during that time.

Down payment for an appointment?

Our patients are the most important to us. This is our mission. If the patient does not cancel the appointment until 24 hours before the visit, during the next booking they will be asked for a £40 upfront payment, which will be then settled against the fee due.

Late for the appointment, but no more than 20 minutes?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to find a solution satisfactory for both sides.

Can the doctors write prescriptions?

Yes. All our doctors are fully licenced to practice their profession.

Are there parking places available?

There are free parking places in the direct vicinity of the clinic.

Do we send or share our patients’ data?

No. Kalmed Consulting has a strict privacy policy. No patient data are shared with any other organisations.

Are the data concerning my treatment or my medical history automatically sent to my GP (NHS)?

As a private medical clinic, our priority is to protect the privacy of our patients. We want to assure you that we do not share any patient data with the NHS or GPs without the explicit consent of the patient. We operate with respect for privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ medical information.

Do I need the ID card?

Before every visit, you are required to present the ID card to confirm your patient data.

Review of the laboratory tests results.

The results are discussed by the GP or the referring doctor. Review of the results is not included in the price of the laboratory tests. If you have any questions related to the test results, please contact the KAL-Med clinic directly.

Payment methods

Due to a low signal of payment terminals, right now we accept cash only.
